About

Hello, my name is Karolina and I am a 27 year old mother with a wonderful husband Dylan, 2 beautiful daughters Brooklyn & Charlotte and a Great Dane Buffy. Before I became a Mrs., our first daughter Brooklyn came as a surprise to us. She is our happy accident that basically started our whole family.

When I first found out I was pregnant at 23 with no career prospects, relatively new boyfriend (but long time friend), confused with life in general, I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least. In this era, 24 year old moms are modern day unicorns - just check out any obstetrician lounge. I was the first one of my friends to get married, let alone start a family and I was a bit beside myself. And as much as Dylan was my rock by my side the whole time, he wasn’t carrying our baby and had to deal with those ‘fun’ pregnancy hormones on top of the emotional roller coaster I was already riding. Getting married, moving in together and having a baby all within a years time (not much long after starting to date) was insane to say the least. But I don’t regret any second of it!

During this whirlwind, I quickly discovered that there was SO MUCH information about pregnancy and babies that it could at times be extremely overwhelming especially for a new mother like myself. Where to even start..?!?!? It is honestly a whole other world out there which makes sense since every pregnancy and baby is unique. This complete 180 in my life and what I’ve learned along the way has inspired me to write a blog about my own pregnancy experience, labour story and milestones in kids’ lives. The ups and downs. The practical and emotional sides. Tips and tricks that worked for my situation and will hopefully apply to yours. Some stories that will make you laugh, cry and hopefully make you feel less alone in this experience. And of course some of the stuff that those books just don’t tell you;)

On a side note I want to stress how this is my own experience and that not every little tidbit will work for you or apply to your own situation. And if you have any medical related concerns you should definitely seek medical attention either from your OB/GYN, family doctor or emergency. There is also a hotline in Ontario available to the public 24-7 where you can speak to trained nurses to help direct a concern that you may have about yourself or baby : Telehealth # 1-866-797-0000
